LDS Conference

Well, conference was great. I couldn't believe that this was my fourth and final General Conference on the mission. Time is moving by fast and it's hard to keep up sometimes. But conference was exactly what I needed. I was able to receive so much revelation for me and everyone we're teaching. It was just so great!

Cierra and her twins went over to the Erickson's Saturday morning to watch the first session of conference. And she absolutely loved it! She was asking a lot of amazing questions and she told us that she felt as if they we speaking directly to her. She even came with a question in mind which was answered. Everything that was said about forgiveness to others and not holding onto grudges really helped her. That's what is so amazing about modern prophets, is that it doesn't matter who's watching or listening, if you do so with real intent, you will learn something that you need to hear. And yesterday she was on some medication so she had to stay at home, but she told us that she still wanted to watch conference online! So we were really happy about that.

We were able to do a lot of finding this week. We're kind of doing some spring cleaning with our teaching pool and finding some new people to teach who will actually progress! I love finding! It's not the funnest thing in the world, but it's always joyful and so rewarding. The times that I have been guided by the Spirit the most throughout my mission was when we're finding. And Pasco has SO many Hispanics. Very seldom will we not run into a Hispanic each day. So that's really nice that I still get to practice mi Espanol! So I'm really looking forward to doing some more finding this week.

Some of my favorite talks from conference were from Elder Hallstrom, Elder Renlund, President Uchtdorf and of course Elder Holland. There were so many things that I needed to hear for myself and also about how we can help our investigators to understand. Something that Elder Hallstrom said that I loved, quoting Elder Holland, "you can have what you want, or you can have something even better." God's vision and the potential which He sees in us is so much greater than we can even imagine.

I also loved what Elder Holland said about the reason why we even have General Conference. That really was the perfect ending to a great General Conference. We don't listen to these talks for 10 hours so that we can feel bad about ourselves. We take part in this conference to be lifted up and inspired to better than we currently are. Because with the Lord's help, progression is possible.

My scripture for this week is: Alma 36:17

"And it came to pass that as I was thus racked with torment, while I was harrowed up by the memory of my many sins, behold, I remembered also to have heard my father prophesy unto the people concerning the coming of one Jesus Christ, a Son of God, to atone for the sins of the world."

This scripture was quoted several times throughout conference and I just love this story from the Book of Mormon. When Alma the younger remembers the Atonement to lift him and build him up. Something that we all need to remember.

I love you all! I love this gospel and I know it's true! Have a great week!
